Summary:
The Shuttle Driver provides safe, reliable, and customer-focused transportation services for college students, employees, and guests. This position transports passengers to and from airports and other designated locations, assists with luggage and passenger needs, maintains accurate trip records, and ensures compliance with traffic laws, safety standards, and College policies while delivering a positive transportation experience.
Essential Departmental
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transport passengers safely between College locations, regional and international airports, and other approved destinations in accordance with assigned schedules.
- Coordinate timely passenger pick-up and drop-off services while maintaining adherence to established transportation schedules.
- Assist passengers with entering and exiting vehicles, providing accommodations as needed.
- Load, unload, and handle passenger luggage and personal belongings in a safe and courteous manner.
- Operate vehicles in compliance with all applicable traffic laws, safety regulations, and College policies.
- Maintain accurate trip records and complete required documentation in accordance with College procedures.
- Exercise professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment while representing the College.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by fostering a welcoming, responsive, and positive transportation experience for passengers.
- Other duties as assigned
Education and/or
Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Five years related experience as a professional driver.
SKILLS:
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, maps, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to converse effectively with visitors, guests, or staff members of the College.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
