Shift Timings : Monday - Friday. 8:30 AM- 5:00 PM, 40 hpw
Requirements:
- Candidates must have previous scheduling experience. Procedure scheduling is preferred but not required.
- Interviews will be onsite, candidate must be local.
Summary:
- The Perioperative & Procedural Customer Service Representative provides administrative support to ensure efficient daily operations within the department.
- This is a back office role coordinating patient scheduling, updating electronic medical records, and assists with referrals, authorizations, and documentation related to patient care.
- The representative works closely with clinical staff and providers to ensure patients are properly prepared for procedures.
- Responsibilities also include managing phone and electronic communications, verifying information, and resolving administrative issues as they arise. Strict confidentiality standards are maintained at all times, along with adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
Major Responsibilities:
- Schedules patient procedures and coordinated appointments for providers.
- Utilizes strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills when interacting with patients, providers, and internal teams.
- Manages a high-volume, multi-line telephone system while simultaneously processing insurance referrals, monitoring fax inboxes, handling mail, maintaining supply room inventory, and responding to incoming calls.
- Identifies and resolves patient, team, and documentation issues to support smooth daily operations within the department.
- Maintains strict confidentiality standards by ensuring patient information was secured and handled in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Updates patient electronic medical records with procedure-related documentation, referrals, and scheduling updates for the endoscopy unit.
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. - Three years of related experience required (waived with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree).
- Proficient in using specialized applications, software, and computer systems.
- Able to multitask effectively and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrates professional behavior with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
