$27.00/hour. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography, market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
What You’ll Do- Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks with minimal technical supervision.
- Carry out preventive maintenance, oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, electrical diagnostics, and warranty‑related repairs based on your skill level.
- Travel to vehicle locations for mobile repair duties, diagnosing and resolving issues to get customers back on the road quickly.
- Operate Budget Trucks on public roads as required for repair or transport activities.
- Apply diesel and medium‑duty expertise to new‑vehicle models across multiple manufacturers to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
- Bi‑weekly hourly wage (New York and Puerto Rico: weekly wage)
- On‑the‑job training to expand automotive and diesel repair skills, including support toward ASE certifications

- Valid Driver’s License Class A, B, or C; a CDL may be required depending on location.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience performing mechanical repairs and diagnostics on medium‑duty or heavy‑duty equipment.
- At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
- Working knowledge across ASE areas including:
Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel. - Ability to obtain DOT medical clearance.
- Comfortable working outdoors and in a mechanical shop environment with moderate noise levels.
- Must have a complete set of tools required for automotive and diesel repair.
- Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive vehicles.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Regular, on‑site presence required; this position cannot be performed remotely.
- Previous OEM experience is preferred and considered a strong advantage.
