Mobile Automotive Technician - Budget Truck

$27.00/hour. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography, market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

• Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks with minimal technical supervision.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, electrical diagnostics, and warranty‑related repairs based on your skill level.
• Travel to vehicle locations for mobile repair duties, diagnosing and resolving issues to get customers back on the road quickly.
• Operate Budget Trucks on public roads as required for repair or transport activities.
• Apply diesel and medium‑duty expertise to new‑vehicle models across multiple manufacturers to reduce downtime and improve reliability.

• Valid Driver’s License Class A, B, or C; a CDL may be required depending on location.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience performing mechanical repairs and diagnostics on medium‑duty or heavy‑duty equipment.
• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
• Working knowledge across ASE areas including:
  Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel.
• Ability to obtain DOT medical clearance.
• Comfortable working outdoors and in a mechanical shop environment with moderate noise levels.
• Must have a complete set of tools required for automotive and diesel repair.
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive vehicles.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Regular, on‑site presence required; this position cannot be performed remotely.
• Previous OEM experience is preferred and considered a strong advantage.
