The Automotive Technician is a full‑time, on‑site role based at the Meineke Car Care Center in Worcester, MA. In this position, the technician performs diagnostics, maintenance, and repair services on a wide variety of vehicles, including brake work, suspension, exhaust, engine performance, and routine services such as oil changes and fluid checks. Daily responsibilities include using diagnostic equipment, following repair procedures, documenting services performed, and communicating clearly with service advisors and customers about vehicle conditions and recommended repairs.

The technician is expected to follow safety standards, maintain a clean and organized work area, and adhere to company and industry guidelines. The role also involves collaborating with team members to meet shop productivity goals and support a positive customer experience.

• Strong automotive diagnostic and repair skills across core systems (brakes, suspension, engine performance, exhaust, and electrical components).
• Proficiency with automotive tools and equipment, including scan tools, lifts, hand tools, and computerized diagnostic systems.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid services, and inspections in line with manufacturer recommendations.
• Solid understanding of vehicle safety standards, shop safety practices, and adherence to environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Effective communication skills to explain findings and repairs to service staff and customers in a clear, professional manner.
• Capability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, team‑focused shop environment, managing multiple work orders and meeting deadlines.
• Previous experience as an automotive technician or mechanic in a repair shop or dealership setting preferred.
• Automotive certifications (ASE or manufacturer‑specific) are highly beneficial; willingness to pursue ongoing training and certification is expected.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate customer and shop vehicles safely.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an automotive technology program or vocational training is a plus.
