Project Executive – Higher Ed
Location:
Greater Boston
Pay: $200,000+ Base Salary + Bonus + Full Benefits
Our client is a well‑established General Contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex construction projects throughout the Greater Boston market. They specialize in highly technical and relationship‑driven work and are known for their collaborative culture, long‑term employee retention, and repeat client base. Their Higher Education division continues to see strong growth as they partner with colleges and universities on transformative campus projects, and they are looking for a seasoned industry leader who can help lead this division.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee multiple Higher Education construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Build and maintain long‑term relationships with university clients, consultants, and project stakeholders
- Provide executive‑level oversight to Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Participate in strategic planning, staffing, and operational decision‑making for the division
- Support preconstruction efforts including budgeting, scheduling, logistics planning, and value engineering
- Identify and mitigate project risks while proactively solving challenges throughout the construction process
- Oversee financial reporting, contract management, change orders, and overall project performance
- Collaborate closely with field operations and executive leadership to ensure successful project execution
- Mentor and develop junior operations staff while helping build long‑term team growth
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 10+ years of experience managing large‑scale commercial construction projects
- Strong experience within the Higher Education / Academic construction market required
- Proven leadership experience overseeing multiple project teams and complex project portfolios
- Deep understanding of preconstruction, scheduling, project financials, and field operations
- Experience managing occupied campus environments and phased renovation work preferred
- Strong client‑facing communication and relationship management skills
- Proficiency with Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to lead teams in fast‑paced, highly collaborative project environments
