Position Summary

The Assistant Project Manager (Construction)

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers with the day-to-day management of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Prepare, review, track, and maintain project submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation.
  • Process and manage lien waivers, subcontractor invoices, pay applications, and vendor documentation.
  • Support project cost tracking and financial reporting activities.
  • Assist in preparing and updating three-week look-ahead schedules and overall project schedules.
  • Participate in project meetings and prepare accurate meeting minutes and follow-up action items.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to support project execution.
  • Maintain and organize project files and documentation within Procore and other project management systems.
  • Visit project sites regularly to gain field exposure and support construction operations.
  • Monitor project progress and assist with issue resolution to help maintain project schedules and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Support project closeout activities including punch lists, warranties, and final documentation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Internship, co-op, or prior construction experience is a plus, but entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic understanding of commercial construction processes, documentation, and project coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

    Ability to work collaboratively in both office and field environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Experience with Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar construction/project management software preferred.
