A well-established electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join its growing estimating team. This role is responsible for developing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial, industrial, utility, and infrastructure projects while collaborating with operations, project management, vendors, and subcontractors throughout the bidding process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and perform quantity takeoffs and material surveys in accordance with established estimating procedures.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor, supplier, and equipment pricing to support competitive bids.
  • Prepare comprehensive bid summaries, cost analyses, and estimate reviews for management approval.
  • Develop and submit bid proposals, scope letters, bid forms, and supporting documentation accurately and on schedule.
  • Generate Requests for Information (RFIs) and coordinate clarifications with owners, engineers, and design teams as needed.
  • Participate in project handoff and turnover meetings to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to operations.
  • Work independently or collaboratively with estimating teams to meet proposal deadlines.
  • Conduct site visits and field evaluations to assess project conditions and requirements.
  • Review plans, specifications, drawings, and contract documents to identify project risks, opportunities, and scope requirements.
  • Assist in the development of pricing strategies and project-specific cost models.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical estimating experience.
  • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and developing complete project estimates.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess project risks and pricing variables.
  • Experience preparing bid packages and supporting documentation for public and private sector projects.

    Ability to prioritize multiple bids and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Experience with electrical estimating software is preferred; familiarity with Con Est or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Background
  • Knowledge of subcontractor procurement, vendor coordination, and strategic bid development.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
