Dental Assistant

This is a full time position.

Position Summary:

Assists the dentist in providing a wide variety of dental procedures.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Maintains supplies and equipment including x-ray developers/processor and pour models.

* Works with the dentist to improve their skills to function as independently as legal regulations permit; and is scheduled to be chair-side with the dentist in the practice, therefore the position requires flexible work hours according to the needs of the department.

* Receives and prepares patients

* Charts dental records,

* Updates medical and dental histories and assists in maintaining dental records.

* Sterilizes dental instruments including hand pieces and disinfecting operatories according to established guidelines and after each patient.

* Any and all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

One of the following combinations of education and employment experience must be met in order to be considered for the position:

Education and Experience:

* High School diploma or GED required

* Training certification as a Dental Assistant preferred

* One year relevant experience preferred

* Demonstrated proficiency with a dental electronic record(EDR) strongly preferred

* Must hold current MA Licensure to practice as a Dental Assistant

* Must have a current BLS certification

* Certification in radiology is required

This position reports to the Director of Dental Services
