Job Title: Physician – Psychiatry (Locum Tenens)
Start Date: June 2026
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (with potential extension)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | No Call
We are seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist for a full-time locum opportunity in an inpatient behavioral health setting. This is a structured weekday role with no call responsibilities, offering a balanced schedule and strong interdisciplinary support.
Work Details- Practice Setting:
Inpatient Psychiatry Unit - Patient Population:
Adults - Average Daily Census: ~33 patients (provider sees ~8/day)
- Unit Size: 45 beds
- EMR: EPIC
- Manage adult patients with conditions such as:
- Depression
- Bipolar Disorder
- Schizophrenia
- Anxiety Disorders
- Substance Use Disorders
- Personality Disorders
- Collaborative team including RNs, Mental Health Clinicians, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and Unit Coordinators
- Hospital-based inpatient setting with established workflows
- Board Certified in Psychiatry
- Active Massachusetts Medical License (required at time of submission)
- DEA required
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
- No call responsibilities
- Orientation provided
- Credentialing timeframe: ~90 days
- Preference for local or drive-in candidates (travel may be considered)
