We are currently seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens assignment in a high-acuity Critical Access Emergency Department located in Massachusetts.
📍 Assignment Highlights- 3-month locum assignment starting September 2026
- Approximately 10–13 shifts per month
- Mix of evening and night coverage (final months primarily nights)
- Scheduled shifts, no call
- Fast-paced ED setting with strong patient volume
- Critical Access Emergency Department
- Annual ED volume ~13,000 visits
- Average daily census: 20–24 patients
- 25-bed facility
- Approximately 2.5–3 patients per hour
- Limited onsite specialty support
- ~14% pediatric volume
- Serving a rural/island community environment
- Infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics
- Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (required)
- No Internal Medicine or Family Medicine accepted
- Active Massachusetts medical license required
- ACLS certification required
- DEA (MA) required
- Minimum 1 year Emergency Medicine experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- Comfortable working in community/critical access settings
- Credentialing timeframe: 3–4 months
- Orientation: 8 hours (non-billable)
- Travel support available (drive preferred; flights optional)
- Housing and ferry transportation provided
- Rental car allowance included (daily cap applies)
- Island-based assignment with unique practice environment
