The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction and support to middle school students (grades 6-8) with moderate to severe disabilities at a local educational collaborative in Worcester, MA. This role involves working in a structured, substantially separate setting focused on meeting students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
The Special Education Teacher will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), monitor student progress, and collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success in a supportive, team-oriented environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact with a small, high-need student population.
WHAT YOU NEED:- Valid Massachusetts Teaching License with Special Education (Moderate and/or Severe Disabilities) certification
- Eligible to teach in MA through DESE
- Bachelor's degree required;
Master's preferred - Designs and delivers individualized instruction for students with disabilities
- Knowledge of MA Special Education laws and IEP development
- Classroom experience Monday-Friday in a structured setting
- Experience with students who are nonverbal, on the autism spectrum, prone to tantrums, runners, or wheelchair bound preferred
