** The Opportunity
** Lesley University always welcomes applications for adjunct faculty to teach upcoming daytime or evening classes for our Liberal Studies:
Adult Degree Completion program. Courses in this department include a Transition Seminar:
Lives in Context and a Research Capstone seminar class, which are geared toward adult learners returning to complete their degree.
** Course Descriptions:
***** Lives In Context:
*** Students critically reflect on the impact of cultural assumptions related to race, ethnicity, and class. They explore the construction of identity in diverse contexts, learning from the perspectives of others and empathizing with alternative viewpoints.
*** Capstone Seminar:
*** The Research Capstone focuses on design and execution of the senior research project by exploring topics, questions, and research methodologies. Students work with faculty to design, research, draft, and finalize a senior essay in the student's area of interest. Students do general and specialized reading in their field of inquiry while they participate in class discussions and activities to clarify their research processes.

Since adjunct faculty positions are ongoing, evergreen positions, your materials will remain on file and will be reviewed on an as-needed basis throughout the upcoming semesters. By submitting your application, you will be put into consideration for current and future adjunct positions within the Adult Degree Completion programs. We hire adjunct faculty on a regular cadence to support our Fall, Spring, and Summer terms.

The specific course hired for is subject to change depending on semester, course catalog, and department need.
** About Liberal Studies:
Adult Degree Completion
** Lesley’s  program allows students to earn their Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in liberal studies with a completely customizable area of study. As a liberal studies major, our students will work with an academic advisor to create a degree plan that’s in line with their prior learning and educational interests.
** Qualities & Capabilities

* Required:

* Master's degree in Adult Education or a relevant field
* Demonstrated successful experience teaching at the undergraduate level
* Experience in constructivist, inquiry-based learning with an emphasis on student engagement

Preferred:
* PhD or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field
* Prior successful experience teaching adult learners#
