About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic educator and program leader to design and facilitate student experiences that empower them to build leadership skills for social impact, justice, and civic engagement. Working with students in grades 6–12, this role creates responsive, real‑world programming that centers student voice and creates opportunities for students to understand and act on issues shaping their communities. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful facilitator and collaborator who is energized by working with young people and helping them turn ideas into informed and purposeful action.

About the School:

Beaver Country Day School is an independent day school serving 460 students in grades 6-12, and located in Chestnut Hill, just outside of Boston. Founded in 1920 and propelled by our progressive roots, our goal is to expand the nature of school. With over 40 local and national partnerships, almost daily field trips, a thriving performing and visual arts program, and a best‑in‑class research and design center, we are able to combine rigorous academics with real‑world application, focusing on teaching content combined with experience applying it to current issues.

Our athletic program offers first‑rate athletic and fitness opportunities that prioritize the whole athlete. The school fosters a joyful environment where students feel confident taking risks and being their authentic selves, where everyone—students and adults alike—feels a sense of belonging, and where teachers have the freedom to innovate and grow alongside their students.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:
Program Development, Design & Facilitation

  • Create and facilitate new student‑centered learning experiences that are engaging, inclusive, and thought‑provoking
  • Analyze program data and incorporate feedback to drive continuous improvement and ensure programming remains relevant, impactful, and aligned with school values
Student Leadership & Engagement
  • Mentor and coach students throughout their growth as social impact leaders – including guiding them towards civic engagement opportunities, in‑house or external conferences and programs, and their own social‑impact projects
  • Build strong relationships with students and create spaces where they feel seen, heard, and empowered to develop as leaders for social impact
  • Prepare students to engage in meaningful, real‑world learning experiences that may involve traveling off campus or welcoming a guest speaker into their classroom
Collaboration
  • Partner with the Director of the Hiatt Center to leverage community relationships that enhance programming
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support effective communication, marketing, and delivery of programs
  • Work across divisions to ensure cohesive, developmentally appropriate student experiences
