Elementary School, Special Education Teacher
The Worcester Public Schools is seeking experienced elementary teachers who have a particular strength in teaching technology, library, and media skills to provide enrichment across the core content areas. The preferred candidate will have strong knowledge of elementary education content areas and child development at the elementary level. This is an itinerant position and the successful candidates will travel among multiple schools.
As a teacher in the Worcester Public Schools you will be expected to provide rigorous instruction to the diverse population of students in your classroom. You will be expected to align your teaching to the district and state curriculum; to regularly assess students for learning comprehension and to modify your teaching to ensure that students are learning; to provide a classroom that is conducive to the learning needs of all students, especially students who are learning English and students with disabilities.

Principal Responsibilities- Massachusetts DESE certification in Elementary 1-6 or MA DESE certification in Digital Literacy/Computer Science or Library Media Specialist
- SEI Endorsement
- BA degree
- Successful elementary level classroom instruction
- Experience teaching computer skills at the elementary level
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs
- Ability to speak Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Vietnamese, Albanian, or an African language.
- Demonstrated experience with second language acquisition
Work Year: 185 days
Salary scale shown is based on the candidate holding a Bachelor's Degree. Potential to increase based on degree level.
