Spanish Required Social Studies Middle School – Worcester Dual Language School 2026 – 2027.
Report to:
Building Principal.
As a teacher in the Worcester Public Schools you will be expected to provide rigorous instruction to the diverse population of students in your classroom. You will align your teaching with the district and state curriculum, regularly assess students for learning comprehension, and modify your teaching to ensure that students are learning. You will provide a classroom that is conducive to the learning needs of all students, especially students who are learning English and students with disabilities.

Accountability ObjectiveThis position is accountable for delivering a high-quality instructional experience through creativity, resourcefulness, and sound judgment consistent with the curriculum frameworks, standards, and the rules and regulations of the Worcester Public Schools.
Principal Responsibilities- Remain up to date regarding curriculum content.
- Plan and assess curriculum and instruction effectively.
- Mentor students’ understanding of the curriculum and adjust instruction, materials, or assessments when appropriate.
- Manage classroom environment effectively.
- Deliver instruction, making learning goals clear and using appropriate instructional and questioning techniques.
- Use innovative approaches and instructional strategies, including effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence.
- Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement.
- Promote equity and appreciation of diversity, ensuring equitable opportunities for student learning, including implementing specific strategies for students with special needs, 504 plans, and second language learners.
- Assure equal educational opportunity to all individuals regardless of race, color, gender, age, marital status, religion, gender identity, national origin, sexual orientation, homelessness, or disability.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Appropriate Massachusetts DESE license in English as a Second Language (ESL), Spanish, and Social Studies 5-8.
- SEI Endorsement.
- BA degree.
- Teaching experience in the content area.
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs.
- Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, or an African Language.
- Experience teaching students who are English language learners.
- Demonstrated experience with second language acquisition.
- Licensed in another state and qualifying for a temporary DESE license.
185 days.
Salary$61,410 to $113,833 per year.
