Reports to:
Building Principal. This role provides supervision and instruction to suspended students in an in‑school suspension program.
Principal Accountabilities
Responsible for tutoring basic skills within the in‑school suspension program.Interact with professional staff (teachers, counselors, child study personnel) and parents to address behaviors leading to suspension.Work across multiple subject areas at the secondary school level to support student learning.Help students develop positive attitudes and motivation for attending school.Collaborate with community agencies and institutions to assist students in reaching their potential.Operate within a self‑contained educational environment.Provide equal educational and employment opportunity to all individuals regardless of race, color, sex, age, marital status, religion, national origin, or handicap.Perform other job‑related duties as assigned to the in‑school suspension program.Required Qualifications
Massachusetts DESE Teachers Licensure.SEI Endorsement.Bachelor's degree.Experience in a secondary school setting.Experience and background in working with students and families in an urban setting.Skills in curriculum development, implementation and maintenance.Demonstrated ability to work with community agencies and institutions (e.g., Juvenile Court, Department of Social Services).Ability to work in multiple subject areas.Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs.Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese or an African language.Work Year & Salary
Work Year: 185 days. Salary: $61,410 to $91,240 per year, scale based on Bachelor's degree and higher education levels.
