Job DescriptionTeacher:
Allied Health/Nursing - Chapter 74 Vocational Education Program.
Responsible for teaching students the Health Assisting/Nursing Chapter 74 Career Vocational Technical Education (CVTE) state frameworks and curriculum disciplines under the direction of the Allied Health/Nursing Department Head.
Principal Responsibilities- Development and implementation of departmental curriculum objectives and competencies.
- Integration of the department’s curriculum where appropriate.

- Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.
- Massachusetts DESE teacher’s Licensure (Chapter 74) in Nurse Assisting 9-14 or the ability to be licensed within one year.
- Evidence of mastery of a wide variety of teacher competencies and understanding of instructional techniques.
- Registered nurse (RN) currently licensed.
- Strong background in long-term care, emergency room or hospital care.
- Working knowledge of computer applications.
- Evidence of supervisory experience in Health Care Industry operations.
- Three (3) years of full-time employment related to health assisting.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- SEI Endorsement.
- Nursing experience including at least one year of Long Term Care experience.
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs.
- Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, or an African Language.
- Experience teaching students who are English language learners.
- Demonstrated experience with second language acquisition.
- Licensed in another state and qualified for temporary DESE license.
