Job Title: Long-Term Substitute Teacher (Elementary School)

Location: Abby Kelley Foster Charter Elementary School, Worcester, Massachusetts

Reports To: Building Principal

Position Type: Temporary Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Starting Date: Immediately

School Year:

Salary: $225 per day

• Implement and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse student needs.
• Maintain classroom discipline and foster a respectful, inclusive atmosphere.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback as necessary.
• Collaborate with other educators and staff to support student learning and well‑being.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding educational matters.

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Valid Massachusetts teaching license in the appropriate subject area.
• Prior teaching experience preferred.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Background check and fingerprinting as required by Massachusetts regulations.
• Completion of any required training or certifications upon hire, including first aid, CPR, and behavior management training.

Position is Temporary Full‑Time in accordance with the established Substitute Teacher Scale. Benefits are not applicable.
