Job DescriptionAs a teacher in the Worcester Public Schools you will be expected to provide rigorous instruction to the diverse population of students in your classroom. You will align your teaching to the district and state curriculum, regularly assess students for learning comprehension, and modify your instruction to ensure that students are learning. You will create a classroom that is conducive to the learning needs of all students, especially those who are learning English and students with disabilities.

Principal Responsibilities- Remain up to date regarding curriculum content.
- Plan and assess curriculum and instruction effectively.
- Mentor students’ understanding of the curriculum and adjust instruction, materials, or assessments when appropriate.
- Manage the classroom environment effectively.
- Provide effective instruction, including clear learning goals and appropriate instructional and questioning techniques.
- Use innovative approaches and instructional strategies, including effective use of technology, to increase student learning and confidence.
- Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement.
- Promote equity and appreciation of diversity, ensuring equitable opportunities for student learning. Implement specific strategies for students with special needs, 504 plans, and second language learners.
- Assure equal educational opportunity for all individuals regardless of race, color, gender, age, marital status, religion, gender identity, national origin, sexual orientation, homelessness, or disability.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Massachusetts DESE license Elementary 1-6
- SEI Endorsement
- Teaching experience in the content area
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs
- Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, or an African language
Work Year: 185 days
Salary: $61,410 to $91,240 Per Year (dependent on degree level and experience)

Union Hill School fosters a curriculum that focuses on Reading Comprehension. Our school-wide focus is to have all students show measurable growth in their ability to comprehend and understand concepts through varied subjects such as Everyday Math, Houghton Mifflin Reading Series, ELA, Science, and Social Studies. We measure student growth through teacher assessment, MAP, DIBELS, DRA, MELA-O, MEPA, and the annual MCAS assessment to drive instruction.
