Wawecus Road School is seeking an educator who is committed to creating an engaging, student‑centered learning environment. As a teacher in the Worcester Public Schools you will be expected to provide rigorous instruction to a diverse population of students, align your teaching to the district and state curriculum, regularly assess student learning, and modify instruction to ensure all students are learning. You will create a classroom that meets the needs of all learners, including English language learners and students with disabilities.
Your role will require patience, perseverance, creativity, excellent content knowledge, and a true desire to prepare all students for successful lives.

Accountability ObjectiveThis position is accountable for delivering a high‑quality instructional experience through creativity, resourcefulness, and sound judgment consistent with the curriculum frameworks, standards, and the regulations of the Worcester Public Schools.
Principal Responsibilities- Remain current regarding curriculum content.
- Plan and assess curriculum and instruction effectively.
- Mentor students' understanding of the curriculum and adjust instruction, materials, or assessments when appropriate.
- Manage the classroom environment effectively.
- Deliver instruction that includes clear learning goals and appropriate instructional and questioning techniques.
- Use innovative approaches and instructional strategies, including technology, to increase student learning and confidence.
- Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement.
- Promote equity and appreciation of diversity, implementing strategies for students with special needs, 504 plans, and second language learners.
- Ensure equal educational opportunity to all individuals regardless of race, color, gender, age, marital status, religion, gender identity, national origin, sexual orientation, homelessness, or disability.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Massachusetts DESE License in Elementary 1‑6.
- SEI Endorsement.
- Bachelor of Arts degree.
- Teaching experience in the content area.
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs.
- Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, or an African language.
- Experience teaching English language learners.
- Demonstrated experience with second language acquisition.

SalaryAppropriate step on Teacher's Salary Schedule. $61,410 – $113,833 Per Year.
