As a teacher in the Worcester Public Schools you will provide rigorous instruction to a diverse student body. You will align your teaching to the district and state curriculum, regularly assess student learning comprehension, modify instruction to ensure mastery, and create a classroom conducive to the needs of all learners, including English learners and students with disabilities. Principal Responsibilities- Remain current with curriculum content.
- Plan and assess curriculum and instruction effectively.
- Mentor students’ understanding of the curriculum, adjusting instruction, materials, or assessments as appropriate.
- Manage the classroom environment effectively.
- Deliver instruction that makes learning goals clear, using appropriate instructional and questioning techniques.
- Use innovative approaches, instructional strategies, and technology to enhance student learning and confidence.
- Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement.
- Promote equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable learning opportunities, including strategies for students with special needs, 504 plans, and second‑language learners.
- Ensure equal educational opportunity for all individuals regardless of race, color, gender, age, marital status, religion, gender identity, national origin, sexual orientation, homelessness, or disability.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Massachusetts DESE license, PK‑6
- SEI Endorsement
- Teaching experience in the content area.
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs.
- Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, or an African language.
