Job Overview

The Associate Director of Student Inclusion & Belonging is responsible for services and programs that promote development along intersections of identity, support the success of historically marginalized students (including Black/African American, Latino/a/x/Hispanic, Asian/Pacific Islander/Desi, Indigenous/Native American, LGBTQIA+ and first‑generation students), and foster meaningful dialogue across identity‑based differences to enhance cultural humility. The role works with various campus divisions and departments to provide outreach, programming, consultation, and services responsive to all students.

Areas of Responsibility
  • Outreach, Support, and Response
    • Participate in campus‑wide initiatives and collaboration with key stakeholders, including committees and working groups assigned by the Director.
    • Collaborate with colleagues in JEBI to support co‑curricular programming across the College.
    • Assist in responding to time‑sensitive campus issues requiring community‑wide bias‑incident processing.
    • Serve as a visible and recognizable presence on campus by attending events sponsored by cultural organizations.
    • Provide individual assistance and support to students; refer students, faculty, and staff to appropriate campus supports such as CAPS, Title IX & Equal Opportunity, CARE Team, and Human Resources.
  • Program Implementation & Delivery
    • Support planning of student‑focused programs from the JEBI Division that affirm students from historically marginalized racial and ethnic groups, LGBTQIA+ students, and first‑generation students.
    • Support planning of special events hosted by JEBI.
    • Lead implementation of first‑generation student outreach and support, including:
      • Serve as resource and referral agent for all students, focusing on first‑generation needs.
      • Maintain knowledge of campus resources relevant to first‑generation students.
      • Provide guidance to HCF1

        RST Scholars and the Delta Omicron chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha.
      • Serve as primary contact for First Gen Forward.
      • Chair the First‑Generation Student Success Steering Committee and develop programming to support first‑generation success.
      • Collaborate with Academic Services and Learning Resources to plan the Tri‑Alpha induction ceremony.
    • Implement and administer the JEBI Certificate Program track, a series of workshops and community project leading to a certificate.
    • Support the Director in administering the Odyssey Program, a pre‑orientation for historically marginalized students, including recruiting mentors, maintaining the budget, and planning an effective experience.
    • Lead assessment efforts to evaluate program effectiveness and partner with the Jesuit Liaison to uphold Jesuit mission and values.
    • Develop and deliver social justice, skill‑based workshops, and trainings for student organizations, leaders, and academic courses as assigned.
  • Administrative Responsibilities
    • Supervise the Assistant Director of Student Inclusion & Belonging.
    • Collaborate with staff across JEBI to foster teamwork and collaboration.
    • Institute administrative procedures.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree required, preferably in Education, Counseling, or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience, including at least one (1) year as lead developer for cultural humility, social justice, or diversity‑related training.
  • Ability to organize and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with all levels of management and staff.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manipulate data in Excel or Google Sheets via sorting and filtering is highly preferred.
