Residential Energy Inspector based in Quincy or Boston, MA, acting as an on‑site program and company representative to residential customers under the Mass Save Home Energy Services (HES) Residential Coordinated Delivery program.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough energy home inspections to provide insights on available energy savings measures
- Troubleshoot technical problems and issues in accordance with client specifications
- Act as local, on‑site program and company representative to customers and contractors, encouraging participation and overcoming barriers
- Travel daily throughout a defined territory in a company‑provided vehicle
- Coordinate the installation of instant savings measures including thermal, air‑sealing, duct‑sealing, duct insulation and thermostat savings measures
- Relevant experience in building science or a related field (acceptable)
- Building Performance Institute (BPI) Building Analyst certification required within 6 months of hire (provided by company if not attained prior)
- Sign‑on bonus up to $2,000 for candidates with BPI credentials (BA‑T, BA‑P, Energy Auditor, Quality Control Inspector)
- Experience in residential construction, energy conservation, HVAC, building diagnostics, air infiltration reduction and insulation preferred
- Ability to work evenings and some Saturdays
- Physical requirements:
frequently lift 40 pounds, climb attic stairs, small ladders, crawl in confined spaces, basic hand‑tool competency - Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, or other foreign languages is a plus
$27.00–$31.00 per hour, depending on experience. Compensation range $26.40–$39.70 hourly based on internal equity, market data, skills, and certifications.
Conditions- Safety‑sensitive position; may involve field work, warehouse work, and driving
- Conditional offers require a pre‑employment drug test and motor vehicle report
- Valid driver's license required for driving positions; must maintain clean driving record
- Compliance with DOT qualification requirements and federal, state, and local transportation regulations
