WECTEC Staffing Services, a wholly‑owned subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, is recruiting for a Substation Construction Manager on a 1‑year W‑2 contract based in King, Texas. The role is onsite, with a per‑diem available at GSA rates. The position is responsible for leading construction projects, monitoring tasks, providing feedback, resolving conflicts, performing inspections, maintaining QA/QC documents and conducting construction quality audits to ensure project specifications are met and the project remains on schedule.

The manager reports to the onsite Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and enforce safety protocols at the job site, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Perform inspections, maintain QA/QC documents, and conduct construction quality audits, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Communicate with team members and clients throughout the project.
  • Keep detailed records of construction activities, progress reports, and safety inspections.
  • Apply extensive knowledge of electrical schematics, mechanical, civil, and steel structural drawings.
  • Apply safety regulations and practices, identifying and mitigating hazards.
  • Work with EPC contractors to resolve requests for information (RFI) and change orders.
  • Perform material procurement and take‑offs.
  • Review project completion, reporting successes, lessons learned, and improvement opportunities.
  • Execute work safely near equipment energized at hazardous voltage levels, lift and carry tools and materials, and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Promote team communication, report issues, and support commissioning efforts through energization.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Relevant

    Experience:

    6 or more years of experience in power plant commissioning, working with EPC contractors, engineering firms, and equipment suppliers.

Base salary range: $70.00/hr. to $75.00/hr. (Dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills.)
