Substation Commissioning Manager of Renewable Energy (1‑Year Contract)
Location:
The assignment will begin in Missouri or North Dakota and may involve additional projects across the United States. Per diem is available.
- Ensure commissioning activities for assigned renewable energy projects (wind, solar, battery storage) are performed with high quality and follow all safety policies.
- Coordinate and manage EPC contractor personnel, OEM start‑up personnel, third‑party start‑up contractors, and operations personnel on site related to site commissioning and startup.
- Maintain project reliability at operational turnover, ensuring plants exhibit minimal lost time in initial operation.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual documents, including Power Purchase Agreements and Large Generator Interconnect Agreements, and deliverables with the local utility.
- Interface with Transmission Operators and Independent System Operators to achieve project energization dates.
- Manage client‑on‑site commissioning personnel.
- Interface with the project’s designated safety, engineering, and quality‑control parties.
- Provide progress reporting.
- Manage third parties, suppliers, and direct‑report team members.
- Plan and schedule project activities.
- Electrical construction and commissioning knowledge, including NEC and NFPA.
- Experience with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) integration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with E&I controls and instrumentation installation, startup, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with protection and controls implementation and troubleshooting.
- Drawing review and quality‑control inspection.
- 5+ years of on‑site project support for renewable power generation construction, startup, and commissioning.
- 3+ years of minimum experience working for an EPC in renewable power generation construction, startup, and commissioning.

Estimated base salary range: $114.00/hr. to $119.00/hr.
