Our client is seeking a Bearing and Manufacturing Engineer to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and modifying bearing components and assemblies to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Applications Engineering support to Sales, including design layouts, sales drawings, and maintenance of bearing/assembly databases.
  • Create internal component drawings and vendor prints.
  • Research and evaluate new materials, industry specifications, engineering standards, and best practices.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, estimates, designs, reviews, and revisions.
  • Analyze customer requirements and develop build‑to‑print and manufacturable solutions.
  • Develop cost models and support business case development for new opportunities.
  • Provide technical support to Sales, including presentations and customer issue resolution.
  • Support Manufacturing with engineering guidance on production‑related challenges.
  • Contribute to new product development and intellectual property initiatives.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) principles to bearing components and assemblies.
  • Develop and implement production methods and tooling processes for bearing assemblies and related components.
  • Release manufacturing plans, design controls, work instructions, and engineering change documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues, balancing cost, performance, and schedule impacts.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities (e.g., Kaizen events) and support Lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to share best practices and maintain awareness of industry trends and standards.
  • Design progressive and compound dies used in the manufacturing of bearing components such as cages, jackets, and races.
  • Lead engineering projects and coordinate with stakeholders at all levels to meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to define control plans and inspection methods.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in mechanical design, drafting, or manufacturing engineering preferred.
  • Background in assembly, machining, or metal stamping environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of metal stamping and machining processes strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with engineering and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works) and data tools such as MS Access and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading, engineering drawings, and GD&T tolerancing.
  • Self‑motivated with strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Understanding of heat treatment processes, particularly case hardening.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels and with external stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to design components, tooling, and integrated manufacturing solutions.
