Composite Engineer
A leading advanced materials manufacturer is seeking a Senior Materials & Composites Engineer with an advanced degree and 5+ years of experience in fiber-reinforced composites and thermoset resin systems. You’ll work directly with customers to develop innovative composite solutions for high-performance applications.
Duties:- Collaborate with customers and Sales to gather and analyze material requirements and specifications.
- Design and develop advanced fiber-reinforced composite systems.
- Design and formulate polymer matrix systems.
- Evaluate fiber and textile reinforcement materials.
- Optimize prepeg processing and curing parameters.
- Conduct mechanical, thermal, and fire performance evaluations.
- Lead multidisciplinary projects through qualification and commercialization.
- Provide technical application support to customers, Sales, and internal teams.
- Troubleshoot customer processing and application issues.
- Support manufacturing scale-up and continuous process improvement.
$90,000 - $110,000

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, Polymer Chemistry, Composite Materials, or related discipline.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on composite materials experience.
- Experience with polymer matrix formulation.
- Experience with prepeg processing and composite manufacturing.
- Composite fabrication and laboratory development.
- Cure optimization and process development.
- Mechanical, thermal, and fire performance valuation.
- Experience with carbon fiber, fiberglass, ceramic fibers, aramid fibers, and textile reinforcements.
- Strong understanding of thermoset resin systems and engineering thermoplastics.
- Product commercialization experience.
- Experience with ablative materials or thermal protection systems is a strong plus.
- Willingness to travel 10-20%
