Cornerstone Bank is committed to our customers, colleagues & communities that we serve. Plans, organizes, and directs Commercial Lending & Services activities. Originates and services commercial loans of all types and provides continuing financial counseling to customers in conformance with established Bank strategies, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities- Carries out ongoing business development programs to promote the Bank’s lending and/or commercial services. Calls on prospective and existing clients to nurture ongoing relationships and to market and cross-sell other Bank products and services.
- May serve on various Bank committees.
- Interviews applicants for commercial and other loans, conducts analysis of credit information, and approves loans within lending authority.
- Independently solicits new loans and serves as account officer on a variety of large and complex commercial loans.
- Responsible for independently working on advanced, complex business deals that require expert industry knowledge.
- Maintains up-to-date records of transactions in conformance with loan policies and provides continuing financial counseling to customers.
- Manages their commercial portfolio. Monitors borrowers’ financial condition on an ongoing basis; reviews financial statements, credit analyses and other information to make an evaluation.
- Participates in planning and goal setting for Commercial Lending. Acts as liaison between the branches, departments, Loan Committee, Executive Committee and the department. Presents loans and recommendations.
- Represents the Bank through participation in various community and industry related activities. Actively promotes interest in the Bank wherever and whenever possible. Actively participates in the Bank’s officer call program.
- Keeps abreast of regulatory compliance and developments for assigned area and apprise staff of same. Recommends procedural changes as needed to support prescribed requirements.
- Performs related and unrelated duties as may be required.
- Participate in civic/community activities to promote growth and development of the community. Instill a positive image of the Bank by adhering to its code of ethics and conduct policy.
- Attend business related functions such as conferences, product education meetings, chamber meetings, etc.

- Able to analyze financial statements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong sales ability and negotiation skills.
- Able to travel within the Bank’s lending territory.
- Able to work extended and off-Bank hours.
- Meet production goals and objectives as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent plus specialized training in lending, credit, or related subjects.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in commercial lending or equivalent.
- Sound credit background
