Staff Accountant, Worcester Credit Union, Worcester, MA

Worcester Credit Union is seeking a Staff Accountant.

• Maintain general ledger accounts and perform timely reconciliations
• Prepare, track, and reconcile fixed assets, including depreciation
• Support the CFO & CEO by preparing financial reports, analyses, and ad hoc requests
• Monitor liquidity levels and borrowing capacity
• Assist with forecasting and tracking performance against the strategic plan
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, including posting and issuing payments in Oracle
• Serve as a backup resource and assist with audit preparation and auditor coordination
• Collaborate with leadership on development and monitoring of the annual budget
• Ensure accurate records and strong internal controls in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations

• 1–3 years of accounting experience
• Experience in a credit union, bank, or regulated financial environment is a plus

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
• Equivalent experience may be considered

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet strict deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Oracle is preferred
• Highly organized with effective time-management and prioritization skills
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
• Team-oriented communicator who works well with leadership and peers
