• Serve as a liaison between patients, orthopedic providers, diagnostic facilities, and insurance companies.
• Communicate testing instructions, appointment details, and follow‑up plans clearly to patients.
• Answer patient questions related to testing or referral processes.

• Ensure timely submission of referral paperwork and documentation.
• Track referral status and follow up with providers to confirm patient appointments are scheduled.

• Schedule and coordinate diagnostic tests such as MRIs, CT scans, X‑rays, bone scans, EMGs, or ultrasounds.
• Verify test orders with physicians and ensure the correct testing protocols are followed.
• Communicate with radiology/imaging centers to arrange appointments and ensure timely results.

• Obtain insurance pre‑authorizations or approvals for tests and referrals when required.
• Ensure all procedures comply with insurance guidelines to avoid claim denials.
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding coverage, billing codes, and documentation needs.

• Enter all referrals, test orders, results, and communication notes into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system accurately.
• Track and follow up on outstanding test results or referral reports.
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Work closely with orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants, and medical assistants to ensure seamless patient care.
• Participate in staff meetings and workflow improvement initiatives.

• Strong knowledge of orthopedic terminology and procedures.
• Familiarity with diagnostic imaging processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with EMR systems (eClinical
  
  Works/Epic).
• Understanding of medical insurance and referral processes.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
