Position Summary
Mass Lung & Allergy is seeking a compassionate, organized, and service-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to support front-office operations and enhance the patient experience. This role serves as a key point of contact for patients, staff, and providers, helping ensure efficient workflow, excellent customer service, and high-quality patient care.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Flexibility to support multiple MLA locations may be required.
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (no nights or weekends).
- Greet patients, check them in, and verify insurance, referrals, and demographic information
- Answer multi-line phones, assist callers, and route messages appropriately
- Schedule and confirm appointments for new and existing patients
- Collect co-pays, outstanding balances, and self-pay payments
- Contact patients regarding missing or incorrect information prior to appointments
- Assist patients with forms, patient portal, kiosk use, and general questions
- Process faxes, voicemails, and documentation accurately in the EMR system
- Support insurance/claims follow-up and front-office administrative duties
- Check out patients and schedule follow-up visits
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and waiting area
- Support coverage at other MLA locations or Call Center when needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations and patient care
High school diploma or GED required
Medical Office Or Healthcare Experience Preferred- EMR experience (eCW or similar) a plus
- Insurance/referral knowledge helpful but not required
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
- Comfortable with computers, phones, and office technology
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to HIPAA and patient confidentiality
- Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between offices if required
