An exciting and rewarding opportunity for a permanent Band8a Operational Manager for 30 hours per week within our Paediatric Therapies teams.
The Paediatric Therapies team includes occupational therapy, physiotherapy and specialist play service working jointly with speech and language therapy, community paediatricians, specialist nursing, child development centre teams, equipment services, orthotics and early years services to offer community OT and physiotherapy intervention across Worcestershire.
This is a dynamic and innovative team with a highly child‑centred approach to intervention. The service is undergoing significant change, moving to a universal targeted and specialist offer embedded in neighbourhoods and working as part of an MDT. This is an exciting time of potential change and development for the service; strong leadership and experience of change management are required to make this process smooth.
There is a strong emphasis on co‑production of services; experience of co‑production and quality improvement techniques is desirable. The successful candidate will need to have extensive experience of using data to baseline and evidence the impact of change.
You will provide leadership for the paediatric therapies team. Line‑manage the team leaders and clinical leads; offer operational and managerial oversight to the therapy teams; lead the team through a period of change and transformation for the fixed‑term period. Maintain best practice and quality for the children and young people accessing the services, support staff and work towards staff wellbeing. Maintain policies and procedures for the teams within trust standards.
Act as an advocate for the service in multidisciplinary forum.
Ensure all Trust initiatives are interpreted and applied to the service and clinical quality of the offer is maintained through a robust review and audit process. Engage with transformation and change projects, keeping the needs of the client group central to all decision making. Contribute to senior management meetings as required and lead service‑level meetings; be responsible for the governance of the service and the quality of practice, such as clinical record keeping and safeguarding.
Hold an overview of recruitment and workforce development for the service. Collaborate closely with the clinical services manager, commissioners and transformation partners to ensure the integrity and quality of the offer to children and young people is maintained.
