Clinical/Counselling Psychologist - Development RoleThe closing date is 15 February 2026
We would like to appoint aClinical/Counselling Psychologist to work in the AMH Neighbourhood Mental Health Services (NMHS) in Worcestershire. Weare a pilot site for the Transformation Model working in the community considering local need and linking with community services.
The development role starts on Band 7moving to Band 8a on successful completion of a development plan. We welcome applications for full/part time working. We provide face to face and virtual interventions as clinically appropriate.
TheNMHS teams have integrated psychological pathways for individuals with moderate/severe, severe/enduring and psychosis/bipolar presentations. The post holder will work on the moderate/severe pathway, applying Clinical/Counselling Psychology core valuesand clinical practice, working with a diverse service user group and with arange of complex mental health needs.
They will encourage empowered service users to be active in theirownrecovery and encourage trauma informed care across the NMHS.
The post is integral to the NMHS, working with other psychologists and mental health professionals. They will be a valued member ofthe psychology provision within the Trust.
As a development role, supported personal and professional development will be a priority.
They will provide psychological assessments leading tothe development of psychological formulations and individual and/or group interventions.
They will receive both clinical supervision and line management. Across the service we offera variety of supervision for evidence-based models and invest in model specific supervision.
They will contribute to the development of community-based adult mental health services. This would be in line with key national and local priorities and with local partners. This includes contributing to the applied psychology ways of working as appropriate. This work will endeavour to include more co-produced psychologically and trauma informed service delivery.

Implement the psychology provision guidelines and trust policies
Evaluate referrals, undertake the assessment,treatment, and management of patients with psychological difficulties with avarying range of complexity and aetiology with reference to clinical need and service capacity
Support the teams in maintaining targets within the psychology provision

Person Specification Experience- Experience required specific to the role and clinical area
- Experience of multi-agency and multi-disciplinary working
- Experience of conducting clinically relevant research
- Significant experience of supervised practice including working with families and care organisations
- Experience of assessing and providing a wide range of psychological interventions to a wide range of patients presenting with a full range of clinical severity
