Senior Receptionist – Medical Office | Worcester, MA | 13-Week Contract
Sigma Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Receptionist to join a busy healthcare team in Worcester, MA. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with medical office, patient registration, or healthcare administrative experience who thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Epic EMR (preferred), insurance verification, appointment scheduling, patient check-in/check-out, and front desk operations.
Schedule- Monday–Friday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Every Other Weekend (Saturday & Sunday): 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Mixed and variable schedule
- Must be available for evenings and every other weekend
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Check patients in and out for appointments
- Verify insurance eligibility and update patient demographics
- Collect copays, balances, and required documentation
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to emails
- Complete referrals and prior authorizations
- Scan, upload, and maintain electronic medical records
- Provide administrative support to providers and clinical staff
- Maintain calendars and daily schedules
- Perform accurate data entry and other front office duties
- Utilize Epic EMR (preferred) and Microsoft Office applications
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate's degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a medical office, patient access, or healthcare administrative role
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Strong insurance verification and patient registration experience
- Knowledge of appointment scheduling and front desk operations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and data entry
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Must be available to work evenings and every other weekend
- No planned time off (RTO) preferred during the contract
- Must be willing to float to Community Healthlink locations within a 35-mile radius
- Reliable transportation is required
