Job Overview
Medical Assistant II (MA II) position at Hopkinton Urgent Care. Under the direction of the appropriate licensed clinician, the MA II provides clinical care and performs clerical duties to support office/clinic functions.
Schedule and CompensationSchedule:
Sunday through Saturday, 40 hours per week. Shift: 12‑hour day shift. Hiring range: $18.30–$44.15 per hour, subject to variation based on experience. Signing bonus may be available upon confirmation of eligibility.
- Escort patients to examination rooms, take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, height, weight.
- Collect, document, and monitor patient health status and progress following standard procedures.
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and point of care tests according to clinic/office standards.
- Prepare, document, and administer non‑intravenous injections within scope of practice.
- Assist in routine physical examination or clinical procedures.
- Review laboratory results; bring abnormal results to appropriate clinicians.
- Provide timely communication to licensed clinician regarding observations and changes.
- Set up and prepare rooms; assist in equipment maintenance and sterilization.
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharge procedures.
- Maintain office and clinical supplies; ensure accurate inventory and initiate requisitions.
- Enter data and retrieve medical information from the electronic medical record.
- Process prescriptions and refills per procedure.
- Perform clerical duties: typing, filing, scheduling, generating letters/forms, directing phone calls.
- Collaborate with insurers to verify coverage, eligibility, and obtain prior authorizations.
- Collect co‑payments from patients and maintain records.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification from the American Heart Association; if not available upon hire, must be obtained within 3 months.
- Medical Assistant credential approved by the Massachusetts Department of Health (e.g., ARMA, NHA); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
