Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - School District Near Lawrence, MA

Soliant Health is currently seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a full-time position within a school district located near Lawrence, MA. This position offers an immediate start until the end of the school year, providing services primarily at middle and elementary schools, with a few students from the high school. The COTA will be responsible for providing direct services and testing to a caseload of approximately 45 students.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct occupational therapy assessments and evaluations to determine students' strengths and areas for improvement
• Develop individualized treatment plans and goals in collaboration with occupational therapists and other members of the educational team
• Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings, to address fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, and activities of daily living
• Implement therapeutic activities and interventions to improve students' functional abilities and independence in school-based tasks
• Monitor and document students' progress towards goals, including writing progress reports and attending IEP meetings as needed
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to support students' academic and social-emotional development within the school environment

Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Massachusetts
• Previous experience working with school-aged children preferred
• Knowledge of educational and developmental needs of students in a school setting
• Strong munication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
• Organizational skills and ability to manage a caseload of multiple students with diverse needs
