Job Summary:
Provide skilled physical therapy support to patients under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, assisting in rehabilitative interventions to improve patient mobility and function. Ensure compliance with regulatory and clinical standards while contributing to patient recovery goals.
Responsibilities:
- Administer therapeutic procedures such as manual techniques, ambulation support, exercises, modalities, and use of assistive devices.
- Assess patient progress and communicate findings to the supervising Physical Therapist to modify treatment plans as needed.
- Document all treatments, progress notes, and clinical observations in electronic health records accurately and in accordance with policies.
- Educate and counsel patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans, procedures, and progress.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
- Support the supervision and training of students under the guidance of a Physical Therapist.
Qualifications:
- Hold an active State PTA license and submit documentation upon application.
- Possess 1+ years of PTA experience, ideally in LTC or rehab settings.
- Demonstrate experience with evidence-based interventions and clinical documentation.
- Exhibit strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Be willing to participate in facility meetings, trainings, and continuing education.
- New graduates with Level II clinical experience considered.
