Job Summary
The Mental Health Aide provides supportive care to individuals with mental health challenges, substance use issues, or both, ensuring their safety and well-being. This role requires a compassionate individual who can assist in the delivery of mental health services while adhering to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor patient behavior and report changes to mental health professionals.
- Support therapeutic programs and group activities.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold patient dignity at all times.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Enforce safety and security protocols to maintain a safe environment.
- Keep accurate records of patient interactions and care.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant training or certification in mental health or substance use preferred.
- Prior experience in a security role or mental health setting is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage crises and defuse stressful situations.
- Understand principles of mental health, substance use, and recovery.
