What You Will Do:
- Provide on-site clinical and administrative support to psychiatrists, APRNs, and individuals receiving care through BHN's Outpatient Psychiatry program.
- Measure and document vital signs, including blood pressure, and communicate relevant clinical information to prescribing providers.
- Coordinate prescription and refill workflows, medication changes and dosage confirmations, medication prior authorizations, and pharmacy communication using approved electronic systems.
- Manage laboratory orders and results, including submitting electronic orders, following up with laboratories, and supporting required monitoring for prescribed medications.
- Maintain accurate databases and workflows for Rogers Orders, Clozaril monitoring, VNA nursing care plans, MassPAT reports, refill requests, prior authorizations, and letter requests.
- Coordinate with residential, care-management, primary-care, pharmacy, laboratory, and other treatment partners to support appointments, refills, lab work, referrals, and continuity of care.
- Document services, communications, medication-related activity, and other clinical support accurately and promptly in the electronic health record and memo-to-chart functions.
- Maintain medical supplies, equipment, and medication samples; dispose of biohazardous waste properly; and follow all OSHA and clinic safety standards.
- Support the onboarding of new prescribers and provide technical assistance with Care Logic, DrFirst, and other clinical systems and workflows.
- Deliver responsive customer service, maintain punctual and regular on-site attendance, manage competing priorities, and complete other duties needed to support efficient clinic operations.
Who You Are:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Medical Assistant certificate or degree required.
- At least one year of experience working with a psychiatric or behavioral-health population required.
- Familiarity with electronic health records required, along with the ability to learn and use additional clinical and administrative software applications.
- Ability to accurately obtain blood pressure and other vital signs and review and understand medication dosages and instructions.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, email, internet applications, and electronic communication systems.
- Excellent customer-service, organizational, time-management, detail-orientation, and verbal and written communication skills.
