The Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences at UMass Memorial Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative group of ophthalmologists and clinical staff dedicated to delivering exceptional patient-centered eye care across a broad spectrum of ophthalmic conditions.

The APP will play an integral role in supporting outpatient clinical operations, enhancing patient access, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality ophthalmic care in a fast-paced academic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient evaluations and obtain comprehensive medical histories
  • Perform ophthalmic examinations and assessments under established protocols
  • Perform intravenous fluorescein angiography (IVFA), including venipuncture, and contrast dye administration
  • Assist with medication refills and patient triage
  • Order and interpret diagnostic testing as appropriate
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Qualifications:

  • Master s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • Massachusetts Medical License with national certification (NCCPA), DEA and CSR
  • Prior ophthalmology experience preferred but not required (to be determined by department)
