Cardiac Surgery PA or NP – Locum Tenens Worcester, Massachusetts | 01/04/27–01/03/28
HPA Healthcare is seeking an experienced Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for a year-long locum tenens assignment in Worcester, Massachusetts.
This is a high-acuity inpatient Cardiac Surgery opportunity combining ICU and OR coverage, advanced procedures, mechanical circulatory support and required call.
Assignment Highlights- Pay Ranking:
Top-Tier Cardiac Surgery APP Compensation - Regular Pay: $175/hour
- 52-week assignment
- PA or NP
- Variable 12–13-hour shifts
- Cardiac Surgery ICU + OR
- Approximately 5–10 ICU patients/day
- Approximately 1–2 OR cases/day
- Approximately 2 nights of call/week
- Approximately 1 weekend of call/month
- LVAD/Heart Mate
- Impella
- VA ECMO
- IABP
- Epic
- Massachusetts license preferred but not required for consideration
- Local candidates preferred; travel candidates considered
The APP will provide inpatient Cardiac Surgery coverage across the ICU and OR.
Responsibilities and procedures may include central and dialysis line insertion, arterial line insertion, Swan-Ganz, chest tube insertion, IABP removal and temporary pacing wire removal.
Candidates should have experience with advanced cardiac support equipment including LVAD/Heart Mate, Impella, VA ECMO, ventilators, bedside ultrasound and IABP.
