Overview
Front desk guest services role at Fairfield Inn Cape Cod, Hyannis, MA. Responsible for greeting guests, checking them in/out, and providing information about hotel facilities and local attractions. Maintain professional, courteous service to ensure guest satisfaction and a positive first impression.
Responsibilities- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival with a warm, friendly first impression.
- Register guests into the computer system, verify reservation details, and process payments.
- Handle cash and balance the cash drawer, maintaining accurate financial records.
- Provide guests with information about hotel facilities and local attractions.
- Assist guests with check-out and process various forms of payment.
- Field guest complaints, conduct research, and resolve issues to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of the hotel’s services, facilities, and the local area.
- Follow hotel policies and procedures, including safety and security standards, and continuously strive to improve operational standards.
- Participate in upselling and promoting marketing programs to enhance guest experience and hotel revenue.
- Work cohesively with the team, supporting management and collaborating professionally with co-workers.
- Understand the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel.
- Prioritize and work efficiently with limited supervision.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to upsell guests into rooms that fit their needs.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- General knowledge of the city and its attractions, and extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services and facilities.
- Ability to handle cash and balance the cash drawer.
- Strong team orientation and ability to partner with management and other employees professionally.
Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent
Experience: 1 year of customer service experience preferred
Additional: Flexible schedule required based on business needs
Pay: The rate of pay for this position is $18.00/hr.
Physical Requirements & Working ConditionsThe minimum physical requirements for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to hear, understand, and communicate orally and in writing with staff, vendors, and guests in normal conversation; stand and walk for extended periods; bend, twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel
