Position Overview:

The Talent Management Skills Analyst plays a key role in helping the organization understand, assess, and develop its workforce capabilities. This role focuses on analyzing employee skills, identifying gaps, and providing data-driven insights that inform talent development, workforce planning, and strategic learning initiatives. The ideal candidate combines analytical expertise, HR knowledge, and an understanding of future-of-work trends to help the company build a skilled, agile, and future-ready workforce.

The analyst partners closely with HR, Learning & Development (L&D), and business leaders to ensure the organization has the right skills to meet current and future business needs.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Skills Data & Analytics
    • Collect, analyze, and interpret data on employee skills, competencies, and career paths using HR systems and external benchmarks.
    • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate skill trends and workforce insights to HR and business leaders.
    • Evaluate skill gaps and identify critical future skill needs aligned with business strategy.
    • Lead partnership with HRIS, TA, and Comp teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems.
  • Talent Management & Workforce Planning
    • Provide data-driven insights about workforce capabilities to support talent review and succession planning processes.
    • Identify internal mobility pathways to address identified skill gaps and partner with Learning and Development to create learning paths
    • Own and maintain frameworks for skills taxonomy, competency models, and internal mobility pathways.
    • Contribute to workforce planning by providing projections and scenario analyses based on skill demand and supply.
  • Strategic Projects
    • Execute talent transformation initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams (e.g., HR, EPMO, and L&D).
    • Research emerging trends in skills intelligence, AI in talent management, and industry benchmarks to inform organizational strategy.
    • Provide recommendations for technology tools and platforms that enhance skills visibility and development.
Required Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • 2–5 years of experience in HR analytics, talent management, workforce planning, or a related role.
  • Experience with HR data systems (e.g., Workday, SAP Success Factors, Oracle HCM) and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or Python/R) preferred.
  • A self-starter with strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify creative solutions to complex problems, translate data into meaningful and actionable insights, and develop strategy based on those insights
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships across all areas of the organization
  • Skillful in listening and identifying the needs and concerns of others and responding appropriately
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Curiosity about future-of-work trends, digital transformation, and evolving skill needs.
Preferred Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
  • Workday configuration knowledge
  • Experience with Workday Skills Cloud
  • Experience with Workforce Planning
Job Environment &

Physical Requirements:
  • Hybrid with 1 in office days per week at our Salisbury Street office in Raleigh.
  • Office setting with physical proximity to other employees. Some background noise from other employees, copy machine, and telephone.
  • Must be able to comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Job requires a substantial amount of sitting.
  • Use hands and fingers to press keys on a computer keyboard to enter or retrieve information.
  • Use hands and fingers to press telephone keypad and lift telephone receiver.
  • Must be able to comprehend phone calls.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds.
