Role Overview

AIS is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer who will support a federal customer’s Azure Web Services Cloud Administration—Mid level. The role involves managing routing/switching, network security, virtualization, core cloud services, IaC releases, and automation of administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain smooth operation of cloud‑based systems and coordinate with network administrators.
  • Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation for cloud infrastructure and tenant inventory.
  • Tune system performance, install system‑wide software, and allocate mass storage space.
  • Respond to large‑scale events involving instantiation of virtual resources such as VMs and storage.
  • Fix critical software and system failures.
  • Propose, drive, and implement technical solutions for automation, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Develop and improve tools, reports, and processes to monitor the health of the cloud environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years of relevant experience supporting enterprise cloud and/or infrastructure environments.
  • Certifications:

    IAT‑2, IAT‑1, or at least one cloud certification.
  • Active Secret clearance (or higher).
  • Experience working in regulated environments and following secure engineering and documentation practices.
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
  • Experience supporting DoD/IC programs and mission systems.
