We are seeking a driven and innovative scientist with expertise in bioinformatics to develop and optimize data capture workflows and visualization dashboards for biologics discovery.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaboratively design digital workflows or tools to streamline biologics discovery and evaluate improvements in operational efficiency
  • Test software solutions and identify opportunities for iterative improvements
  • Proactively identify scientist needs that further our digital transformation strategy and propose solutions to meet them
  • Pilot new software and AI tools to evaluate utility for BGM
  • Implement standard analyses and visualizations that balance customization and increased efficiency
  • Represent BGM to Informatics and external software vendor providers as a technical expert.
  • Collaborate across groups with different priorities
  • Understand and communicate nuance of wet-lab workflows to enable integrated, harmonized data capture.
  • Proactively communicate roadblocks and identify potential paths forward
  • Communicate impact, including workflow efficiency gains at internal and external forums

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree in a related scientific discipline or bioinformatics, with typically 5-7+ (BS) or 2-5+ (MS) years of experience.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of molecular biology and binding and functional assays.
  • Hands-on experience with commonly used bioinformatics tools and platforms (e.g., Prism, Geneious, Genedata Screener, Dotmatics, Benchling)
  • Proficiency in Python and at least one other programming language (e.g., SQL, Java, or R)
  • Demonstrated expertise in data engineering, e.g. retrieving, shaping, preprocessing, and managing large datasets from databases
  • Proven ability to develop interactive data visualizations and dashboards (experience with Power BI, Tableau, D3.js, or Spotfire preferred)
  • Experience with collection and processing of assay data, preferably using automated liquid handlers.
