A Haitian Creole Interpreter provides professional interpretation services to assist in the communication between people who have limited proficiency in English and service providers in judicial proceedings, health settings, or social services venues. The role requires dependable, prompt, and confidential service across consecutive, simultaneous, and sight‑translation modes.

• Render messages faithfully, conveying the content and spirit of the speaker.
• Maintain assignment confidentiality and professional appearance at all times.
• Accept assignments using discretion regarding skill, setting, and client involvement.
• Follow interpreter ethics codes for medical and legal settings.
• Perform related duties incidental to meeting departmental goals.

• High School Diploma or GED required; two years of college preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in English and Haitian Creole.
• Demonstrated ability to provide accurate, impartial interpretation both receptively and expressively.
• Certificate of successfully completed National Recognized Interpreting Training.
• Two years of related experience preferred.
• Acceptable criminal background check.
• Willingness to travel and work a flexible schedule.

Pay range: $26.05 to $27.83 per hour.

Yes – travel to various sites and drive own vehicle as needed.
