OverviewThis position is Monday - Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $30.85 and includes paid sick leave as required by law.
Responsibilities- Relocate furniture and equipment within and between campus locations.
- Support all event requirements.
- Provide relief coverage for custodial schedules as required.
- Pick up trash and recyclables from designated locations and remove them to appropriate processing sites.
- Notify supervisor of equipment or vehicles needing repair or replacement.
- Operate motor vehicles, forklifts and high lift (Genie) as required.
- Assist other department group members to complete work tasks, coordinate moves and event support, and participate in snow removal activities to maintain campus operations.
- Support office and residence halls with furniture replacement moves.
- Perform project work such as stripping floors, carpet shampooing, operating auto scrubbers on floors and delivering supplies to locations on campus.
- Assume additional responsibilities as required.
- Must possess or obtain a 1C Hoisting operator’s license; will attend safety training as required by management.
- Minimum of three years custodial experience.
- Must be able to follow written instructions and diagrams.
- Ability to function well in a team/community environment, displaying common courtesies and politeness and frequently interacting with students, teachers, co‑workers, administrators and government officials.
Valid unrestricted U.S. Driver’s License with an insurable driving history as determined by Babson’s insurance carrier; must successfully complete and pass the Babson College vehicle training program within the first 30-60 days of employment.
Physical Environment- Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, hazardous chemicals, outside weather conditions and extreme heat.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- Usual moderate noise level.
- Operate a motor vehicle on a daily basis.
- Regularly use hands to finger, handle, feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently lie down, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and smell to reach inaccessible areas.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Regularly climb and/or balance up to 10 feet, and occasionally climb and/or balance up to 20 feet.
- Regular use of close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
