Custodian – Boys & Girls Club of Worcester (Full Time, Temp to Perm)

The Boys & Girls Club of Worcester is a nonprofit, charitable, educational organization dedicated to youth development. Our mission is to inspire and enable all youth to become responsible, productive and caring citizens.

Responsibilities: Clean and maintain the boys & girls club, Harrington Clubhouse. Tasks include general cleaning of building and equipment, vacuuming, cleaning floors, kitchen, walls, windows, cafeteria, painting, changing light bulbs, outside landscaping (shoveling, lawn mowing, raking), trash removal, etc. Must be available to work days, Monday-Friday. Must be a self-starter able to work independently.

Position details: Full time, temporary to permanent, 40 hours per week, days. Specific hours and schedule to be discussed.

• Basic knowledge of cleaning supplies and methods, willingness to learn new skills, adaptability to flexible schedule, attention to detail.
• Knowledge of painting, drywall, carpet cleaning, waxing and buffing floors preferred.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Have the ability to drive the club van and possess a clean driving record (minimum of 3 years).
• OSHA certification preferred.
• Interact with club staff (professional and volunteer).
• Maintain contact as needed with external community groups and contractors.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high energy level and be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day responsibilities.
• Regularly required to speak clearly and hear the spoken word as well.
