Overview

Position Type: Long term contract role with potential extensions

Seeking an experienced Manager, Leadership Initiative to lead the planning and execution of the Leadership Initiative’s 25th Anniversary programming. This role will manage high-visibility academic and executive programs, working closely with faculty, senior administrators, and external partners to deliver impactful events aligned with strategic priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end planning, development, and execution of 25th Anniversary programming, including conferences, symposia, faculty convenings, and special exhibits.
  • Manage complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives from concept through delivery, ensuring alignment with Leadership Initiative priorities and strategic goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of coordination among faculty, academic leadership, internal teams, vendors, and external partners.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
  • Oversee program logistics, content coordination, and execution for both in-person and hybrid events.
  • Track progress, risks, and dependencies; proactively resolve issues and adjust plans as needed.
  • Prepare status updates and briefing materials for senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure a high-quality participant experience and document lessons learned post-program.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience managing complex programs or projects in higher education, research institutions, or comparable environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, multi-stakeholder initiatives with senior academic or executive audiences.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with faculty-led initiatives or executive education programs.
  • Familiarity with academic or leadership development programming.
  • Experience supporting milestone or anniversary initiatives.
