Overview
Position Title:
BUSINESS MANAGER
Status: Part-Time, Hourly

Hours:
20+ hours per week
Reports to: Pastor
The Business Manager oversees the day-to-day administrative and financial operations of Saint Anne Saint Patrick Parish. This position supports the pastor and parish mission by managing budgets, payroll, and employee benefits, financial planning and reporting, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring the smooth coordination of office activities. The ideal candidate will be organized, trustworthy, and committed to fostering a welcoming and efficient parish environment in accordance with Catholic values and policies.
Responsibilities- Financial Management – Prepare, monitor, and manage parish and related ministry budgets in collaboration with the Pastor and the Financial Committee. Maintain accurate accounting records, including income, expenses, payroll, and bank reconciliations. Oversee accounts payable and receivable, and ensure compliance with diocesan financial policies and best practices. Assist with financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
- Administrative Oversight – Manage the daily operations of the parish office and supervise support staff or volunteers as needed. Maintain parish records, files, and correspondence with discretion and confidentiality. Coordinate contracts, vendor relationships, and service agreements. Support parish ministries and committees with scheduling, communications, and administrative needs.
- Human Resources & Compliance – Handle employee onboarding, payroll documentation, and HR records in coordination with diocesan guidelines. Ensure compliance with safe environment and CORI requirements.
- Pastoral and Community Support – Serve as a professional, welcoming presence for parishioners and visitors. Support the pastor in implementing parish goals, communications, and special projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in office management, bookkeeping, or financial administration (nonprofit or parish experience a plus).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software (e.g., Quick Books or diocesan systems).
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally (e.g. office supplies, files).
- Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computer, copier, and telephone.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy office setting.
